Future Shorts

October 25, or so:

Been with Marianne, Parham and his gf Mariola to Future Shorts some kind of short film festival. But the picture quality was not that good. Maybe this is due to the fact that most (or all) of the shorts are as well on the youtube et. al.

birthday party jujabe

Jujabe had a birthday party despite her wedding this week, two in a row bonus so to speak.

She had a new cake recipe that she gave a try. mhh yummy.

Um... haven’t wrote much lately >_<

Ok here comes an update … Well at least what I can still remember. So kind of short.

Been to the pictures and watched Live Free or Die Hard (Stirb langsam 4.0) with Kevin and a mate of him (can’t recall his name). Must say the computer hacking bits and how the data gets transferred to a federal installations is quite stupid. Other hacking bits were not much better… but well this is a action movie and as such it should be measured by explosion and action and … and if you use the action movie measurement this movie is a good one.

Earlier the month Julia and I had another one of Susan’s yummy recipes, dal bahji that is. Yummy but extremely hot because I left the spiciness up to Julia, well kind of. Andreas cried, he does not like it that hot.

My sister got herself a Nintendo Wii and we bowled nearly every day now. And nearly every minute I’ve been alone at home I’ve been playing The Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. I should be half through by now (or near half).

Jujabe and I planed on being luckier finding nice cloths then she was with her fiancé. So I suggested that we could have a bite at my place and then head over to the Mall. I had seen an Eggplant Pancake recipe on Susan’s blog and was eager to give it a try. Took me slightly longer than I expected but that day I was a slowpoke. As well I overdosed the spinach bit and reduced the garlic. Mhh, yummy. But I’d reduce the garlic one more time when I have them again.

Over at the Mall, we didn’t found anything nice for her. There were a few items that I’d liked but she had objections. But since we arrived quite late we could not invest as much time as she and Andreas did.

But surprise we met Sasha and his gf. I have not seen him for ages, literally. He and his girl will move together to Bonn. And his brother is going to a wedding over Pfingsten so no Pingsten lan party this year, to sad.

Wednesday 16, Unity, Drum & Bass.

Kevin thought because of the holiday on Thursday it would be an ideal party day. Unfortunately he was not the only one with that idea. Many looked pretty underage or am I just getting old? >_< Well overall I would say that the club was way to full. No matter where I was standing, I was standing in an ant highway. Several party guests moved from the back to the front of the club every two minutes or something and who was on their route? Me. Seriously that is no fun. Well and I don’t start complaining about the fags. How can any logical thinking being waste their health by smoking this g-d damn cigarettes? I so can't wait for the smoking ban. Honestly, this ban is overdue. Not that we did not had any law against bringing suffering to other people that is 223 StGB, but I doubt that any law would follow my argument and prosecute a smoker for hurting somebody. Ok so much for the ranting. Back on topic, have I mentioned that the music was ok? Boh.

claudia party part 2

The planned BBQ was canceled due to the weather conditions so Claudia decided for pizza and alcohol at Ruwens place and clubbing at Club 101 afterwards.

The first bit (pizza and drinks) was all fine, (though I did not had any alcohol), but then (the second bit of the eve) we did not made it all into club 101. Not so fine I must admit... Well the door was obviously not so fond of my converse shoes and all, but I thought that would not be a problem since we had more girls than blokes in our group. Maybe I was lucky and I really did not match their crowd so the door saved me the money but I guess since we were a large group we would've had fun anyway. Well if they don't want me, nor my money that is their problem. I also have not been to the Robert Johnson since they turned me down once.

Anyhow, the girls were either eager to get in or had other friends join them there later the eve; it was Wolkenkratzer Festival (Skyscraper Festival) as well. Since we had already talked about an alternative for Club 101, yet did not found any especially since some of us (the girls) would have looked overdressed, I said that it wouldn't be a problem if just Ruwen, his friend and I split up. Ruwen was not so happy that some of them made it look like we were morons even trying to get in being dressed so badly.

So the 3 of us met Ruwens friend Hena and friends of hers on the Fressgasse and had a beer at club Voltaire. There was some hip hop event with the real jay or something but that was near over and we were officially not inside, so we did not had to pay for entry. Which is good since I am not into hip hop at all (well apart from some popular German groups like Fettes Brot, but I wouldn't count them as hip hop).

My last train nearly had an accident and was late, which freaked lots of passengers out and when it arrived it was a short train which is totally wrong since there were thousand that were to the Wolkenkratzer Festival... but somehow all made it in (at least I guess) but the train was packed.

Hope Kevin is happy now that I had this fabulous great evening (I am talking about the not getting in bit). Instead I could have had an awesome night at the Red Cat Mainz along with him. Saturday was Drum and Bass.

If I were aware of the Indie Party at the Final Destination I might have gone there. But since I never been there so far...

Been with Ellen, Mirijam and her roomie and David to Little Miss Sunshine at the Pupille - Cinema on Campus.

Wow, what a hilarious movie. realy enjoyed it, so funny it made me cry.

Afterward Ellen and I had a short stop at Cafe Anna Blume, but the party was as good as over.

arch angels

Been to the Arch Angels (Warau daitenshi (Mikaeru)) movie picture by Issei ODA at the nippon connection festival here in frankfurt yesterday.

Must say I expected it to be more "baka" but it felt more like the film of a shojo-manga. Lots of talking, everything and everyone is super-cute, yet the bad guys get there spanking none the less. Tho it was not what I expected, I liked it. The movie felt like a manga in some scenes, ... around half the time I might say, not only because of the camera settings but as well due to the oil painting style backgrounds in some scenes, quite surreal, and of course the superpowers and the special effects that were used.

march summary

Ok duh... it costs way more time to write one summary as just post stuff right as it happens.

~ March 29 ~
Well lets start with yesterday. I helped Arnika to pack her Ford Transit that was supposed to carry all her stuff from Frankfurt to Stuttgart were she is moving to. We were just 3 helpers here at Frankfurt and so Schlomo and I had much fun with the piano.
schlomo and arnikas stuff
piano and schlomo

~ March 13 ~
My mum, my sister (Melanie) and I went to the opening of the new Ikea in Frankfurt. I bought the Besta bench from my wish list and added some cushions last week. Yeah! I like ikea. Uh another thing I bought is a hungry-mans-casserole-dish or rather a casserole dish for two. Only had this huge casserole-dish before. Already used it a couple of times for the Polenta Lasagna with Portabellas and Kale, oh i love this "cheese" sauce.

~ March 7~
Really thought I already bloged about Shorts At Moonlight. *sigh* well Kevin and I went to the Unity club for the Wednesday dnb eve and Shorts At Moonlight was on our schedule before the party. Some nice short films I must admit.

~ March 6 ~
The Good German
Been with Ellen to the Good German movie at the pictures. We planed to be more but our other coworkers didn't joined in. Well as you know the Good German is in black and white and it was screened at the smallest room available at Turm Palast. The story itself is quite depressing everyone is evil, well at least sort of. I nearly laughed at the bombing-martini-glass dialog early in the movie, no martini? no party!

~ March 3 ~
the BYO-we-are-back-from-downunder-party. Oh my gosh. I had to much. But at least I sticked to sapphire gin so all was well (no headache or crap like that).

~~~February 17~~~
Been to Astrid's and Niklas' place to play Wii with Niklas and his former schoolmates. We wii played the wii sports games bowling, tennis and some golf. Had pizza in between. uh uh and we watched Kung Fu Hustle. That was fun.
~~~February 21~~~
My birthday, I am 27 now. Soooooo old *sigh*. Thought It'll be one lonesome day for it was on Aschermitwoch this year and I thought most would be away or getting back in form from the carnival season. Yet five where there, Julia and her bf Andreas, Nero and his gf Vici, and Kevin. I made mini crustless tofu quiches and cheese sauce as seen on Susans blog and rice, my sister made two salads and Julia brought a homemade cake.

My Mum gave me shampoo, sweets, coffee ; Julia and Andreas gave me a voucher for radix, uh and that cake ^^v. Earlier this week Melanie gave me a pair of converse. Too bad I did not took a photo of the longdrink she brought in the middle of the night.

On Friday, I received an Amazon package by Heike ^^ contents: ipod power adapter, Bloc Party - A Weekend In The City, which is running nonstop since.

Monday 26, Today Manu gave me a chocolate cake with m&m, she said it was planed that she and Ayse would sing me a song but since Ayse catched a cold... well, that bit got canceled. :-( to bad.

mhh well not much else happend this month, ... at least I think so.

Abba Fever

As posted in the The Holidays 2006 Post we got vouchers for the Abba show at the Alte Oper, and last Wednesday January 31 we have been there.

Must say well ... since I’m not that much into Abba, I can’t say Yeah yeah, awesome... but was nice and all. Especially the dance company and the fancy dresses. To bad I am not in shape for my bellbottoms :-/ have to lose some of my extra pounds

Yet if I were I guess it would have not been the right place for them, since the audience was mostly elderly people in formal dresses. *sighs because he turns 27 soon*

the holidays

Was with Julia to The Holidays Motion Picture, yesterday. Yeah! for Cameron.

This movie is a good one! Quite long too, but I didn't noticed it which underscores that this movie is good. And did i say Yeah! for Cameron Diaz?

The story is not that good if you think about it, so just don't. Apart from the bad guys, who hurt 'the leading ladies' you feel sympathy for all main characters. I really liked the scoodely doo doodely doo played by Eli Wallach and did I mentioned Cameron Diaz... no honestly this movie is nice, though I guess DVD would work too.

Though they cheated by not showing an end, but I guess since Amanda couldn't leave since she shed two tears. She will try to make this work.... anyway... uh darn this was a spoiler.. well then I can add that I liked the bit with the two girl names Amanda shots on Grahams mobile and notes busy man, and when she met them.

Rating: bold A, for not being boring at all...

Update January

Sylvester:
Been to Julia’s and had lots of yummy foodstuff and of my own gin, along where of course Andreas as well as Emil and Arnika.

January 7:
Gaming Night chez Arnika, with Niklas and Astrid, Julia and Andreas, Me and later Kathrin joined for cake and Skip-Bo (card game) at Arnika’s place. Uh and did I mentioned Mira the dog?

Arnika presented her Napster Music flat rate which she says rocks, well wouldn’t work for me since I would want the music for on the go on my iPod and the Coasters for display, but if you are part of the working from home crowd then you cant say anything against it I guess.

I used the chance to listed to the Lily Allen Alright Still Album which is on my Amazon wish list but I only knew 3 tracks, and the first 40ish seconds of each track… this album is definitive worth buying imho.

Was cool to catch up with Niklas since I didn’t seen him in like ages, and finally met his fiancée Astrid. Uh and Niklas, she looks a lot better in person then on your blog... you should think about replacing that picture (and of course blog more) !

Must note that we did rather chitchat then play that card game, but was fun nonetheless.

Arnika suggested that we should all visit the king pin to play pool or to bowl. Yeah! for that.
