Been with Marta to Easy A last week ... or rather we went to a turkish movie but that was the only one of the whole turk movie festival that you could not purchase tickets for at the pictures. So we settled for the sneak preview.

The movie is really well made and only receives a B, because I'm not the target audience and certain parts of the movie are predictable, while others where not ... at least for me but Marta said she saw it early so probably I'm just kinda blind.

Spoiler/Plot: The movie is about Daria. Add some double standard Christian fundamentalists and a happy end with her childhood sweetheart.. Phoebe from friends was awesome. Emma Stone was also good but I didn't believed her being introduced as the nerd outcast (sorry exaggerating here), the only thing that separates her from the stereotype hollywoodian miss popular is that she is smart and has wits.

Rating: B+

Been with the Gruink to the pictures, last Tuesday, to see the Don't Mess With The Zohan movie. Really enjoyed it despite the bad reviews it had.

Been with Ronan to the Iron Man movie last Tuesday. Great special effects and all.

This movie is of the sort "don't think about the story and have another beer".

Oh and Gwyneth Paltrow as Miss Money Penny Pepper Pot was just great.

Caught A Cold
I caught a cold and was all sneeze and had headache. Had tea. Lots of tea. Yummy tea.

Birthday
I had birthday and got a nice set of presents. My plan was to have one big present but oh well. Melanie thought it was time for me to have a proper jacket for the more freeze days. So I got a Jack Wolfskin North Country Men. Which is really cool. I'm happy that she convinced me because when it is rainy or stormy outside with this jacket it doesn't matter. you can even only wear t-shirts (might not work in Alaska I guess). My original idea of a big present was a Peugeot Evian pepper mill as I didn't wanted that they spend so much on presents for me... Now I got both. vouchers for the mill and a good jacket. Oh and my mum added Sapphire Gin and special haircare, and Julia added a kellnermesser and a cake. I made one to but it wasn't that yummy, but my chili con soy was. images tagged my birthday 2008.

Ok here comes an update … Well at least what I can still remember. So kind of short.

Been to the pictures and watched Live Free or Die Hard (Stirb langsam 4.0) with Kevin and a mate of him (can’t recall his name). Must say the computer hacking bits and how the data gets transferred to a federal installations is quite stupid. Other hacking bits were not much better… but well this is a action movie and as such it should be measured by explosion and action and … and if you use the action movie measurement this movie is a good one.

Earlier the month Julia and I had another one of Susan’s yummy recipes, dal bahji that is. Yummy but extremely hot because I left the spiciness up to Julia, well kind of. Andreas cried, he does not like it that hot.

My sister got herself a Nintendo Wii and we bowled nearly every day now. And nearly every minute I’ve been alone at home I’ve been playing The Legend Of Zelda: The Twilight Princess. I should be half through by now (or near half).

Been with Ellen, Mirijam and her roomie and David to Little Miss Sunshine at the Pupille - Cinema on Campus.

Wow, what a hilarious movie. realy enjoyed it, so funny it made me cry.

Afterward Ellen and I had a short stop at Cafe Anna Blume, but the party was as good as over.

Been to the Arch Angels (Warau daitenshi (Mikaeru)) movie picture by Issei ODA at the nippon connection festival here in frankfurt yesterday.

Must say I expected it to be more "baka" but it felt more like the film of a shojo-manga. Lots of talking, everything and everyone is super-cute, yet the bad guys get there spanking none the less. Tho it was not what I expected, I liked it. The movie felt like a manga in some scenes, ... around half the time I might say, not only because of the camera settings but as well due to the oil painting style backgrounds in some scenes, quite surreal, and of course the superpowers and the special effects that were used.

Rating: solid A

Well lets start with yesterday. I helped Arnika to pack her Ford Transit that was supposed to carry all her stuff from Frankfurt to Stuttgart were she is moving to. We were just 3 helpers here at Frankfurt and so Schlomo and I had much fun with the piano.

My mum, my sister (Melanie) and I went to the opening of the new Ikea in Frankfurt. I bought the Besta bench from my wish list and added some cushions last week. Yeah! I like ikea. Uh another thing I bought is a hungry-mans-casserole-dish or rather a casserole dish for two. Only had this huge casserole-dish before. Already used it a couple of times for the Polenta Lasagna with Portabellas and Kale, oh i love this "cheese" sauce.

Really thought I already bloged about Shorts At Moonlight. *sigh* well Kevin and I went to the Unity club for the Wednesday dnb eve and Shorts At Moonlight was on our schedule before the party. Some nice short films I must admit.

The Good German
Been with Ellen to the Good German movie at the pictures. We planed to be more but our other coworkers didn't joined in. Well as you know the Good German is in black and white and it was screened at the smallest room available at Turm Palast. The story itself is quite depressing everyone is evil, well at least sort of. I nearly laughed at the bombing-martini-glass dialog early in the movie, no martini? no party!

the BYO-we-are-back-from-downunder-party. Oh my gosh. I had to much. But at least I sticked to sapphire gin so all was well (no headache or crap like that).

Was with Julia to The Holidays Motion Picture, yesterday. Yeah! for Cameron.

This movie is a good one! Quite long too, but I didn't noticed it which underscores that this movie is good. And did i say Yeah! for Cameron Diaz?

The story is not that good if you think about it, so just don't. Apart from the bad guys, who hurt 'the leading ladies' you feel sympathy for all main characters. I really liked the scoodely doo doodely doo played by Eli Wallach and did I mentioned Cameron Diaz... no honestly this movie is nice, though I guess DVD would work too.

Though they cheated by not showing an end, but I guess since Amanda couldn't leave since she shed two tears. She will try to make this work.... anyway... uh darn this was a spoiler.. well then I can add that I liked the bit with the two girl names Amanda shots on Grahams mobile and notes busy man, and when she met them.

Rating: bold A, for not being boring at all...

been with ronan last sunday to the cars motion picture. great, great, great! so cool pictures. all the reflexions and light and shadow effects. fancy shiny cars. waterfalls. etc. ok the story was a simplified version of a romance flick but hey, its a disney movie so its supposed to be for children. aswell the pictures dont show it past five. real cute, funny, and great pictures, uh and it had extra scenes in the credits and at the end.

Rating: Bold A

Been with Roman, Julia and her bf to Crank at the pictures. this movie rocks, it has action, is fun, and fast and in the other moment slow. definitively this is one realy good movie. a must see. therefor i wont spoil anything :-p

we saw the new superman movie, which wasnt bad but wasnt something that made you want to shout wow, awesome.

the starting scene was well made but looked like for a star trek movie. nice asteroid belt and half eaten saturn though. made me more eager on battlestar galactica season ii. yet the movie itself was solemly on earth but four scenes and in which earth looked like a virgin. hello! earth is surounded by satelites and debris and is far from virginty. *sigh*. well we better do not discuss the story, we realy shouldnt. yet it was worth seeing and not boring at all.

my rating is B.

this one is a sad movie but the comic style is so great, so surreal.

if i would write more i would write to much. ok the basics, Mr. Matrix plays an undercover cop that is used to get find out who is behind a drug called substance d.

johnny depp did an awesome job with captain jack sparrow and keira knightley was hot, ... i bet she will start something with jack in part II.

maybe i'm wrong but there were lots of parallels to monkey island and i love monkey island.

would be kewl to make a big theme party and watch all three of'em.

soooo great, so funny, i cried, must have the dvd when it hits the shelfs.

which sounds pretty interesting. while watching a psychologist talking (...) you should make a "hmm"-sound whenever you agree, or something alike. nothing for youngsters and you'll be seperated. girls sit left, boys right. age rating would be girls 20+, boys 25+ due to explicit content. at an other university based cinema they had noticed that during all their shows of this movie, surprisingly the audience did agree/disagree very similar.

Been to the chronicles of narnia with ronan yesterday, tuesday 12/12. Have heard that the movie was total crap while others said it was great....

Somehow I totaly knew the story. so either I've seen the old movie on tele or I read the book. bet it was tele.

The Witch was totaly cool ^_^ yeah I know she is the child eatin evil witch you are supposed to hate but she was kwel anyways.

What I wonder is why this movie is suposed for childs! It glorifies war and has no gore where there should be, hell you stab a wolf and no blood at all is spilled but he is told to clean his sword. or alsan slaugthers the witch but his fur is clean. this happend all the time. yet if there was gore it couldnt be seen by childs. what would a child-psychologists say to this movie and what the lesson for the children would be.

Yeah yet another kill'em all buffy style zombie slaugther (well they are not zombies as in dead and such... but this time i wont spoil the plot) movie and it has spacefaring and even society critisism.

This is a bust see imho, even you might say well this and that has been in other movies nothing new... well had a good time anyways.

was slightly disapointed that the marsbase, weapons and the characters had so litle to do with game. if i'm not wrong the story was altered too. while in the game it's occult, in the movie we have mad scientists that try to alter the genome with an extra chromoson blah blah and depending on the soul that is somehow encoded in the our genome blah blah you turn to an evil hells knight or something or you turn to be the uberheld.

maybe the movie is more alike to the old doom games, dont recall its been awhile. but the bfg from the movie looked more like a plasma gun. well anyways if you go see it for action and explosion, it was a good one.
